Our February theme is on leadership. Women make up nearly half the workforce, yet we see so few of us taking high level executive roles. Whether because of societal barriers, imposter syndrome, or lack of resources, we have a more difficult time growing our careers and shattering the glass ceiling–or repairing the broken rung.
Imposter syndrome. We all know what it is; many of us struggle with it. It’s a gnawing, lingering feeling of inadequacy that hinders our professional growth. We tell ourselves that we can’t instead of thinking of all the ways we can. So, how can we conquer it and soar to new heights even when the doubts try to hold us down?
Our guest, Whitnee Hawthorne, is a keynote speaker, author, and Fortune 500 and start-up executive with a strong background in leadership, customer contact, and operational excellence. Aside from her decorated career, she’s also a thriving mom of two, and is passionate about guiding other working women as they figure out the balance between caregiving and driving organizational change. She believes that women, especially mothers, don’t have to sacrifice their career journeys to tend to their other priorities—everything can fit together in harmony, helping us create a full, beautiful life we love.
